WHY A BILL OF RIGHTS?

Prime examples of why government has gone astray and exceeded its boundaries.

Nationalism v Federalism goes to the root of most of the problems we face today in this country. How many know the difference?

James Madison proposed a nationalist form of government during the Constitutional convention. Madison started out spearheading the ultra-nationalist Virginia Plan, which he had written in anticipation of overthrowing the government under the law of the land at the time, The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, which would have converted the then confederated states into municipalities of a central regime:

“At Philadelphia, he (Madison) repeatedly argued that the states should not be treated as sovereign jurisdictions. He worked mightily to deny them equal votes in the Senate, and he hoped to give Congress a veto on all state laws, a measure that would have stripped the states of any pretension of sovereignty.”

Madison considered the congressional veto of any State Law paramount to the establishment of a consolidated government:
